YAY!!!]]>Mon, 02 Jun 2014 03:31:07 GMThttp://themcspaddenfamily.com/the-mcblog/getting-ready-for-the-reunion-yayRaffle items, we need raffle items!! Aunt Naomi has once again made an afgan for the raffle. It is one based on the theme of the weekend. Recognizing our freedom and the men and women that have fought to keep us free and safe! It is a memorial afgan to honor the memory of John Maynard McSpadden. Our beloved Uncle, Father, Brother, Veteran.

Jill has also once again created some treasures with her embroidery skills and Jami has made some jewelry for the raffle. Please, plan on creating or supplying an item for the raffle too.

Cost of the reunion this year will only be $15.00 per family. This should cover the cost of the Community Center and also some of the food cost. The other money for the cost of food and prizes will come from the raffle ticket sales and donations.

I'll post more later, so stay tuned!!

<![CDATA[The Trophy!]]>Sat, 02 Mar 2013 14:20:29 GMThttp://themcspaddenfamily.com/the-mcblog/the-trophyPicture
The Easter Bunny told me he is going to award a trophy to the family that participates in the games and wins the most!
Yeah, well, who wants a cheap little old plastic trophy... He said it's not a cheap little old plastic trophy.. it's a big nice metal trophy on a marble base that will have the winning family's name engraved with the year they became the Champion Family Member!! It will be a perpetual trophy that will be awarded every year!!
OK! I will be the one to win that because my family is the BEST!!

<![CDATA[Some plans revealed!]]>Mon, 04 Feb 2013 01:37:25 GMThttp://themcspaddenfamily.com/the-mcblog/some-plans-revealedPicture
Easter a long, long, long time ago! Aren't we cute!
More details about the Reunion!

There could be a total of 90 family members representing 4 generations of McSpaddens. If you apply the 80/20 rule, then we could expect 72 (80 percent attending) members of our McSpadden family to all be together! That would be awesome!

We figured we could have 30 kids hunting eggs, how fun will that be??

For the raffle so far, we have Aunt Naomi crocheting an afghan! I know that is gonna be a much sought after prize cause Aunt Naomi has never made an ugly afghan! Our cousin Jami is making some needlepoint pillowcases, something else I'm gonna hope to win! I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, has anyone else decided? Let me know! I want to post the raffle items here and would love it if you sent me some photos of it too. You can email them or take a picture and text it to me, 817-925-9208. I'll get it posted promptly.

The raffle ticket prices will be:
        1 ticket $1.00
         6 tickets for $5.00
        13 tickets for $10.00
         25 tickets for $20.00

100% of the money collected from the raffle will be used for the event, buying the prizes, buying the napkins, cups, plates, bowls, forks, spoons and knives.

There will also be a scanning station, please bring your old photos and have them scanned so we can share them with everyone. We'll have post it notes to write something about the photo on (also so you can tag your photos).

You'll want to be sure to sign up for the Bunco tournament Saturday night, Prizes include an all expense paid trip to a restraurant and movie theater! Weather permitting there will be water balloon toss game, maybe some volleyball or basketball, or something you've never even heard of before. But, don't worry, there is also time that nothing is planned so we can just sit around and gossip, maybe go explore on some of the hiking trails, or even take a nap...

Remember, cost of this entertaining, family bonding opportunity includes 2 nights stay, entertainment with chances to win prizes, and almost all meals! (Meals will be divided amongst the families, that information will come later as we know how many we will need to feed. The idea is 5 meals, 5 families will split the cost.. i.e. Males/Warner family will provide Sunday brunch, buy, cook and clean.

Stay tuned for more info later!!

<![CDATA[Paying for the camp!]]>Fri, 01 Feb 2013 23:08:01 GMThttp://themcspaddenfamily.com/the-mcblog/paying-for-the-campPicture
You can now go to the sign up page and start paying on attending. I know for some it starts adding up, so, if it would help to break it up into payments, then you can do it. If you don't have a paypal account, you can always mail me a check and I'll send you an invoice so you'll be able to keep track, and I will too!

If you have an idea of what you will be putting in the raffle, it would be awesome if you sent me a photo. I'll post it on this blog and also in the photo section.
Things are moving right along for this to be a really awesome reunion! Don't miss out on being a charter family member of the 1st annual McSpadden Family McReunion!!

Here's where you could be sitting having a cup of coffee, relaxing and visiting with family on March 30th and 31st!
It's the patio at Camp Broadway. Yep, in the background is the lake.
We are so excited to find this location, it's private and secure, the kids can bring their bikes and ride on the roads throughout here, there is no traffic, unless it's one of us driving. There are hiking trails, a boat ramp, a fishing pier, horseshoe area, and a fenced in playground.

Cameron says the chairs in the Lodge are realllllly comfy!
